Chain Breaking SZN

Hey there!! I haven’t blogged in so so long. Oh my! But today? I’m here. So what’s good, sis... or bro? :) Today, I’m gonna be talking about chain breaking. Now I grew up in church and I’m the type of gal who brings up God a lot. Why not? So if I haven’t scared you away yet, let’s get to talking! I’m gonna talk about me for a few minutes if that’s ok. It’s my blog, sis. Lol So I am very family oriented, or at least I try to be (when I’m not annoyed, ya know?) and I grew up being around family. Never really spent a lot of my time away from immediate family. Ever! But slowly, I’m gravitating away due to people’s lack of support and never ending belittlement. (Juiiiiiccy) Let’s get a backstory, shall we? Most of my family only has a high school diploma or none. Which is totally fine, if that’s all they want. I’m not the one to push education on anyone. In fact I believe you can be great without higher education. Do you! I also grew up in a single parent household. My mom was.. and is the hardest worker I know. With three kids, a full time job, and hardly no other support, she went back to college and got both her Associates and Bachelors. Graduating from Ole Miss in 2016, she set examples for me. It let me know that anything is possible and I had no excuses to not get to where I want to be in life. This example was set and I chose to follow in her footsteps to get my education. I chose this path because I wanted to continue breaking chains in my family. My mom busted her a** in factories ever since I can remember. From day shifts to night shifts, she did what she had to do for hers and I will always cherish her for that. She never stops encouraging me to get my education and be great in life. #1 supporter right there!! However.... others choose to not support (which is totally fine. Keep that same energy!). They would rather I “quit and work”.. b**** puhhhlease (I’m not going to college to finish and sit on my a**.. clearly)!! Or they’re wondering when I’m graduating... like when are youuuu? 🤷🏽‍♀️ So yes, this is that bs I’m tryna get at. People who choose to keep the same ish going for generations to generations will never everrrr want to see YOU get out of it. And I know there’s so many others who go through the same things with their family. That’s why I chose to address this and be of some encouragement to you all. So here’s some good ole advice: First of all, it is perfectly fine to cut family off. If they aren’t encouraging you or being of any help to get you to a higher place in life, snip them ho*s and don’t look back. Negativity has no place in our lives. People that choose to be stuck in the same ole same ole aren’t going to root for you. They want you to settle just like them. It’s up to you to break chains and go after your goals... even if it means going alone. Sure, “a degree won’t guarantee you a job.” Sure!! But it doesn’t hurt to get one if that’s what YOU want out of life. Network and watch God work. Don’t let anyone without a diploma or degree discourage you because you haven’t graduated on time. How can they put you on a time frame for something they’ve never got or been through? Right, they can’t! Never give up on what you want out of life. Whether it’s education related or not. God gave each of us his plan(s) for us. The vision he gave you isn’t for others to see or speak on. Work for yours and others will see it in due time. And that brings us to this last one: Write your goals down and don’t speak on them to anyone. Conquer them and watch how God displays them in front of everyone who doubted and discouraged you. Jeremiah 1:5 Jeremiah 29:11 Proverbs 29:18 Habakkuk 2:2 Commit your works to the Lord and he will establish your plans. Thank you for reading! 💛 -Bria
